Founded in the Year of Jubilee, Akome Aqua Farm has grown into one of the region's most technically rigorous catfish operations. We specialize exclusively in Clarias gariepinus reared across 500 tarpaulin ponds — 350 in active production and 150 held as spare capacity for staggered stocking and biosecurity rotation — fed on carefully formulated plant-protein diets optimized for growth rate, feed conversion, and flesh quality.

Broodstock & Breeding

On-farm broodstock selected for growth performance, resilience, and disease tolerance — the genetic foundation that serves not only our own production cycles but the wider community's fingerling needs. Induced spawning under controlled conditions ensures every juvenile starts with the same vigour, whether destined for our ponds or a neighbour's farm.

Hatchery & Larvae

Larvae reared in dedicated hatchery tanks on live feed transitioning to formulated starter diets. Careful water quality control through the critical early stage.

Juvenile Grow-out

Fingerlings stocked into tarpaulin pond systems at managed densities — 350 ponds in active rotation, with 150 held in reserve for staggered restocking. Fed optimized plant-protein diets with enzyme and amino acid supplementation for FCR efficiency.

Harvest & Supply

Fish harvested at target market weight of 1–1.5 kg. Live fish dispatched to processors, traders, and farm-gate buyers. Surplus fingerlings channelled back into the local farming community.
